Haute Stuff! Laura Mercier Asks “What is Flawless?”

Laura Mercier Cosmetics believes one answer to what is flawless is being charitable and giving back. To that end, beginning September 1, 2010 to December 1, 2010 every time a response is submitted on the LAURA MERCIER website, $1.00 will be donated to the Gulf Relief Foundation (gulfaid.org) to help restore the Gulf to its previously flawless state.

Had myself a Ferris Wheel ride today

I had business in Detroit Lakes today, like returning the clock that didn’t work to Wal-Mart.  There was someone at the jewelry stand today, so I had them take a couple of links out of the band of the wristwatch I bought last week.  Then I got a haircut from a ‘not so nice’ young Minnesotan lady.  Tried to buy a new tie out for Emma before she breaks the one she is on and heads for the hills.  No luck.  It’s on order.  Yeah, right.  I just don’t like shopping at Wal-Mart.  Anyway, then it was on to Fargo, ND, to pick up an order I had made.  Steve, the other volunteer, had told me about an interesting store in Fargo, so I found my way there.  It’s name is Scheels, and is something like a Cabellas.  It’s a sporting goods store, and I wanted to buy one of those new fangled pair of pants where you can zip off the bottoms of the legs and end up with a pair of shorts.  Lots of people wear them, so I thought I’d give a pair a try i...

It's Time to Exhale

A pot-luck post

Pot-luck, to me, means a variety of things thrown together without special preparation or coordination.  My dictionary says it should be a meal, but I think it could apply to a post as well.  I’ll include a couple of things about meals, but the rest is just some of my experiences today. I picked up this little magnet a couple of weeks ago at the Minnesota Fishing Museum.  It’s message seemed like a good idea to me. So, last night I fried up a batch of small sunnies and perch that I had caught on Lost Lake for dinner.  I just dipped them in some breadcrumbs for a little crunch.  They were very tasty.  Since I don’t have a boat, I only fish from shore with worms, so far, and don’t really expect to catch anything very big.  I just enjoy being outdoors, and the excitement of reeling them in.  I must admit that I need a little more practice on my fileting skills though.
